Traveller Comments:
"The accommodation was quite okay but the breakfast room was terribly noisy because it looked rather small for the number of guests. The pool was under repair for more than a day and the sea water was causing skin irritation because of jellyfish, a seasonal problem as we were told."

"The Thien Hai resort is tired and old and so are the staff. They never once fulfilled any of our requests (ie. asked for 4 towels for our room as we had 4 in our room and never did we get given four, only 2, even after numerous calls to housekeeping and front desk). They demanded our passports on check in and they were not impressed when we rightly refused to hand them over for our entire 4 day stay. We said they could take photocopies if they required copies. We had a beachside bungalow and the room was a good size with a queen size bed and a single bed but the room was beside the water treatment plant that smelt terrible so we could never leave our windows or door open and couldnt sit on the small patio out front facing the beach due to the stench.
The hotel does not provide beach towels either which we found a pain as there isnt really anything else to do at the resort except sit on the beach or swim in the pool. You are required to use your bath towels and with the lack of supply this makes for an unsatisfactory experience. The hotel also overcharges for use of their car for trips into town so dont use them, use a local motorcycle instead. The breakfast supplied is also terrible with stale white bread, warm pre-mixed orange juice and tasteless omelets.
We travelled for 3 weeks across Vietnam with our 2 and 3 yr old daugthers and stayed in some nice places but this was our worst experience in our 3 weeks there. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone except the desperate. Stay at the much nicer La Veranda up the beach.
